A Lady's Chemise

Misses Sizes Extra Small to 3X Large

Both versions of our flattering chemise have short gathered and ruffled cap sleeves and can be cut low knee-length or at the hip to be worn as a blouse.  Delicate pleats accent the center front and back of the neckline, which is adjustable with ribbon drawstrings.  The neckline of View A drops just off the shoulder and uses purchased eyelet beading and lace or eyelet ruffles at neckline and sleeve.  The neckline of View B sits on the shoulder and features a self-fabric ruffle and casing for the ribbon drawstring.  Instructions and alphabet designs for a Victorian monogram are included.

Beautiful Dreamer

Misses Sizes Small to X Large

The prototype of this delightfully feminine gown bespeaks the humbles of origins.  "49 cents Buys this Muslin Gown" boasted the 1902 edition of the couturier of rural America - Sears, Roebuck Catalog,.  Several pages of style and fabric variations (all white) attest to its popularity, and the county lady anxiously awaited the arrival of her dream gown.  Both views are full and flowing, with three deep box pleats in back; fronts gather into a gently rouned ruffle bodice yoke.  Side seam godets add a slight flare.  Both are closely fitted to the upper body with a deep buttoned opening at left front.  Long puffed sleeves are finied with slipover wristbants and ruffles that fall gracefully over the hands.
